"I'm more in love with Rock n Roll today than other things. It grows, you know?" - BON SCOTT
An icon of Australian energetic rebelliousness, Bon embodies the scoundrel and cheeky rebel we all love. The lead singer of the one and only, ACDC, Bon has a place firmly in the cement of Australian Culture. Renowned for his casanova ways, larrikin banter, Scott was the 70's Rock God. Tight low cut jeans, waist coats and lots of hair, he rocked out!
Born in Scotland, Scott moved to Australia as a child and grew up in Fremantle. He formed his first band, The Spektors in 1964, singing and drumming for the band.
In 1974, he replaced Dave Evans as the lead singer of ACDC. The band went on to star in Australia and Internationally. Not long after Highway to Hell was peaking in the US, Scott died suddenly in London at the age of 33 in 1980. The band thought about separating after his death, however, recruited Brian Johnson to replace Scott. They then recorded Back in Black as a tribute to Scott and the album become the 3rd best selling album in history.
Bon Scott's grave has been classified as a landmark of significant cultural importance by the National Trust of Australia. There is a bronze statue in Fremantle and ACDC Lane in Melbourne.
